Salesperson: Classroom Program

Allows you to assist others buy, sell, manage and lease all property types.

Audience: This program is appropriate for individuals who do no have a real estate license in Illinois and plan to work under the direction of a licensed broker.

State requirements for Salesperson Licensing:

  1. Be at least 21 years of age.
  2. Have graduated high school or obtained the equivalent of a high school degree (GED)
  3. Have successfully completed a 45 credit-hour Real Estate Transactions course.*
  4. Pass a state approved license examination administered by the state's authorized testing service. State Examination Detail  

    *Attorneys licensed to practice in Illinois are not required to complete the education requirements. Click here for a Review Program specifically for attorneys intending to take the Salesperson or Broker examination.

Broker: Self-Study with Classroom Option

Allows you to work independently or for another broker. Brokers who are self-sponsored may manage and sponsor other licensees.

Audience: This program is appropriate for individuals who are currently licensed as a Real Estate Salesperson in Illinois and want to upgrade your license to a Real Estate Broker.

State requirements for Broker Licensing:

  1. Be at least 21 years of age.
  2. Have graduated high school or obtained the equivalent of a high school degree (GED)
  3. Have successfully completed 120 credit-hours of Real Estate pre-license education, or hold a Real Estate Salesperson License and successfully completed 75 credit-hours of Real Estate Broker education.*

Coursework
This program allows you to supplement your self-study learning by attending live classes. You determine the number of classes you attend based on your enrichment needs. 75 credit-hours are required, consisting of five courses, three mandatory and two electives. These courses are Contracts & Conveyances, Advanced Principles/2000, Brokerage Administration, Real Estate Appraisal and Real Estate Finance. Each course earns 15 credit-hours. If you have previously completed courses to earn credit for broker licensing, please call us for special pricing on your remaining courses.

Combined Salesperson Classroom with Broker Self-Study

Audience: This program is appropriate for individuals who do not currently have a real estate license in Illinois, but want to earn a Broker license without first earning a Salesperson license.

State requirements for Licensing:

  1. Successfully complete the listed requirements for both the Salesperson and Broker programs. However, individuals who complete this combined program are not required to take the salesperson state examination. Candidates may proceed directly to the broker state examination.

The 120 credit hour combined Salesperson and Broker Program is comprised of 45 credit hours of classroom education from the Salesperson Program and 75 credit hours of self-study education from the Broker Program.
