The recent passage of the Illinois Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Pilot Program Act has created many challenges for attorneys based upon the conflict between state and federal laws. This program provides strategies to navigate these new laws and their impact on such a wide array of real estate practice issues, such as landlord/tenant, commercial leases and residential leases. The presentation also includes important ethical considerations regarding advising clients and the new Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct that must be followed.

This course provides an overview of the Illinois Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Pilot Program Act and the new Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct relating to the act. The course will benefit all attorneys and provide ethical techniques and procedures for legal practice in the area of medical marijuana.
