NMLS Licensing Requirements

State-licensed mortgage loan originators are subject to the education and testing requirements of the SAFE Act. The Act requires all MLOs seeking state-licensure to pass the NMLS-developed SAFE Mortgage Loan Originator Test with a score of 75% or better.

In addition to passing the SAFE test, all state-licensed loan originators must also satisfy a minimum 20-hour NMLS-Approved Pre-license Education requirement to become licensed under the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System. Save money with our discount package program that includes pre-license education and test preparation.
